Baby Shower Fun

Last weekend I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for my friend and fellow leader Amanda.  For over a month I schemed and lied and sat through a dinner where her sweet daughter wondered why no one would want to throw a shower for her mom and new sister.  Ugh, I wanted to scream, "I care!  I promise that you will have a great shower and feel loved!!!!!"  Needless to say, when the preggo mama went to the potty, I told her daughter who was sworn to secrecy.  Her husband dropped her off that morning, she thought she was going to a Girl Scout meeting, but she had so much more fun in store.  We started by eating, what would a baby shower be without food?!!  Following the food, we played a couple of traditional baby shower games, the "smell the chocolate in the diaper" game which was a ton of fun to watch.

We also had some cake, made by me, yes, I just promoted my self but this is my blog so I can do whatever the heck I want to do.  Here is the link to the baby shower cake or you can even just check out the whole site here.  All in all, it was a wonderful day and I was so happy to see her happy.

Now, if that sweet girl would just hurry up and get here so I can hold her and snuggle her, the world would be alright :)

Baby Shower Happenings

I cant believe I am lame and didn't take that many pictures while I was at my cousins baby shower.  By the time I realized I hadn't taken a single picture, she was already opening gifts.  At that point in the party, my kids were acting like it was Christmas morning and tearing open gifts while I stood there horrified and nervously smiling.  Thank God she is family.  My youngest one seemed to have the best time though.  Here she is helping cousin Wendy open gifts.

She also made her way inside while we were all outside and proceeded to try to put the picture frame shaped like a flip flop on her foot.  I am pretty sure we will never be invited back to the sweet ladies house it was at, lol.

She is lucky she is cute :)

3 is enough!

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of watching my friends adorable little 4 month old girl.  I got to bottle feed her, ugh, that made my heart ache.  I loved holding a small baby again, feeding her and having her look at me the whole time.  I loved having her lay on the blanket on the floor and squeal and baby talk.  I loved having her here, and then I realized just how much I don't want any more kids, haha.  I have always questioned if we were truly done having kids.  My heart aches as Hayley grows up and I know I wont have a little one in onsies who needs me to bottle feed her or carry her everywhere.  There is no way we can be done having babies!!  And then I added a fourth for the day and I know that I am indeed done!!!  She was blissful while we were home....and then we had to leave the house.  Cass had stuff at the school we needed to do so my first obstacle was getting 2 babies in the car.  Who do I take first?  Who gets to sit alone in the car while I go round up the others?  How am I going to drive?  I already had Hayley's seat in the middle part of our car so I had to put our little friend next to her.  Well, her seat sits backward and ti is a huge seat, so I had to slide my seat up.  I felt like a moron sitting so close to the steering wheel!!!  Then we actually got to the school and I strapped the smallest one to me in a snugli, followed by one in the stroller, followed by 2 kids holding the stroller while we walked up a steep hill.  I was sweaty and out of breath once we got to the top.  Yes, it may be because I am horridly out of shape but I also had a ton of kids!!!!  One of which was strapped to my chest and I forgot just how heavy a baby gets when strapped that way.  It was horrid people!!!!!  But, it made me put the nail in the baby makin' coffin for sure.  My uterus is ok with it now, it does ache when I see a small baby and get to snuggle them, but then it remembers the craziness of going anywhere and realize, I like some sort of freedom.  Now, let me leave you with this sweet face I got to snuggle for a day!!

Yes, that is my chunky monkey on the left.  She was so excited to be around a baby!!!  She also seemed incredibly large to me when I sat them next to one another.  She is growing up!!!  Ugh, maybe I want another baby.....no, no uterus, calm down!!!

Too Cool For School

As this week begins, I will be sending Cass back to school and Kendall will be going to school as well.  So, that means I will be having some alone time with my little rebel baby.  Don't even ask what kind of wreck I will be when she goes to school too and I am all alone!

Standing Tall

The other day, without anyone prompting her, Hayley decided that she wanted to stand on her own in the middle of the room.  I was sitting next to her and she just stood right up, looked at me and giggled.  She does it a lot now and looks at you and giggles, she is so proud of herself.  So, today I finally was able to capture it.
My little frog, getting ready to stand.........

Getting her legs steady.......

Almost all the way up....(wish I had it set on a different mode so it isn't blurry)

My little princess standing up all on her own!!!!!!

Did you notice in the last one how elegant she looks?  Her onesie has the dress part on the front and I swear she stood like that, in curtsy mode, for a good minute before plopping back down.  She is growing up way too fast!!!!!

Fan Love

Since it is warm upstairs in our house, even though it is gloomy and chilly outside in JULY, hello weather, we live in California and we would love our sun back.  Nevertheless, it stays warm upstairs in the rooms and so I have the ceiling fans going in every room.  I turn Hayley's on at night because well, she is a baby and babies don't know how to put covers back on when they get cold and it get chilly at night and I don't want her uncomfortable.  So, I turn it off, yet every afternoon when she takes her nap, i turn it on so her room doesn't get stuffy.  We walk in her room and her eyes automatically go towards her fan.  I ask if she wants me to turn it on to which she shakes her head yes.  So, I turn it on and her eyes just watch it go from slower to fast to faster.  She looks at it like she looks at me when she is in total amazement.  her eyes light up and she has a slight smirk of a smile on her pretty little face.  I just love to watch her.  I always tell her she is my little fan of her fan, give her sweet cheeks kisses and tuck her in with her favorite puppy pillow, a snugly blanket and a million other blankets she has to have, you know, just in case she needs to switch it up.  I love watching her grow!!!

All About Baby

All moms think that their kids are the cutest and show them off every now and again.  Most of the time it is when they do something funny or accomplish great feats, today I am bragging just because I have cute pictures and I want to share.  Is it really that bad to have to sit there and stare at a sweet little face?  I love staring at the sweet faces of all your little ones, I promise I do, so stare a little at mine.
This is our littlest one enjoying her very first Oreo cookie.  I was cooking in the kitchen and she was super whiney, trying to climb my leg and let the whole neighborhood know just how unhappy she was.  I remembered buying my secret stash of Oreos earlier and thought it might just do the trick.  Yes, an Oreo before dinner, sue me or send the mommy doing something bad police.  It made my little one super happy and I got to take a cute chocolate filled face picture.  Mission accomplished.
Oh how I love her sweet blue eyes!!!!  However, try to look above that and see her cute flower propped right on top of her sweet little head.  It was a gift that was given from The Pleated Poppy when I went to a blog party called Blog Sugar thrown by a sweet gal over here.  I wear it from time to time and love it.  However, the other night before we headed out to see some friends, I was trying to find a cute headband for my baldy baby.  She has a pink headband with nothing on it and it is comfy on her head, however she is channeling a little 80's workout queen when she wears it.  However, add a super cute flower that matches her shirt perfectly and look how cute!!!!  I think I like it better than when I wear it!!!!  Ok, I am almost off my momma soapbox, I just have one more thing.  Our little one has always said "dadda".  First, it was because she wanted her dadda, then everything turned into dadda.  She would point and say "dadda" for everything.  I have been trying and trying and trying to get her to say momma.  Mission finally accomplished!!!!
